Sustainable CPV makes electric motors more efficient
The new Beckry®Core Core Plate Varnish (CPV) helps boost motor efficiency in the e-mobility industry.
The laminated cores of these motors, made up of thin layers of electrical steel, are covered by heatresistant coatings to reduce magnetic loss. Thinner coatings are essential for more compact motors. Electric cars are gaining traction around the world. But their compact, high-performance motors require special coatings. Beckers has designed a thinner, better performing, environmentally friendly Core Plate Varnish (CPV) to help electric motors perform more efficiently.
“By enabling the development of more efficient and compact high-performance electric motors, Beckry®Core can support the electrification of the automotive industry – to help promote a low-carbon society.”

Successful collaboration
Produced in Sweden and available globally to electrical steel producers and electric motor manufacturers, Beckry®Core was developed by our global Long Term Development team in Liverpool, UK, and the dedicated CPV R&D team in Sweden, together with our customers and major electrical steel companies.
The waterborne coating not only aids the development of more efficient and compact high-performance electric motors, it is also free of chromates, hazardous air pollutants and heavy metals. That makes it safer for the production process and for customers.
Our teams in the UK and Sweden in cooperation with the French Coil Coatings Lab are already developing a new version of Beckry®Core for sub-micron and high viscosity applications.
